This is a great idea for a website and one which I have been thinking about starting for a while but have never got round to it.
ReplyDeleteI have been researching fake pounds for about two years now and have a good run of dates from 1983 - 2008 excluding 1986. All dates include the correct reverse amongst the mules except 1999, for which date I only have a mule.
It is really fascinating that the quality varies so much. Some Coins are so good that you really have to look very closely to verify it is a fake, and others you could spot from the end of the street looking through the bottom of a milk bottle!
Unfortunately my scanner is down at the moment and I have tried photographing with my digital camera which only limited success. As soon as I can I will post some images.
